Monthélie Rouge, Domaine Éric Boigelot, 2017 Pinot Meunier with a well-structured palate andA superb red Burgundy at a very affordable price. Coming from the village of Monthlie, just round the corner from Meursault and Volnay, the wine has a savoury nose with some spice and red fruit notes. On the palate it is chewy with good fruit and again some spice. Slightly rustic tannins make this into a real quaffing wine that would be good to drink with some red meat casseroles or roasts. Even game works well. It's almost a junior Volnay!
