As the plant matures it may make some longer spines. Like most Eriosyce, this species forms a tap root . Flowers are reddish orange. Requires general cactus care, but be careful not to overwater as tap rooted species are more sensitive to rot. Will clump in time. Protect from frost, though it is said to be able to withstand light
